Here at this point are some tips and tricks for kernel / software, etc., which currently quite scattered in the forum can be found.
I think that mainly New Kanotix-users will have some difficulties to navigate and the wiki ist in parts outdated and no help.

Kernel update:
Tips for NVIDIA users!
Before the kernel update this script install>>

VB Tools

Bind the ISO image as a virtual drive in the virtual Windos PC: calls to the menu bar of the PCS gesrartetenn virtual "devices, CD / DVD-ROM mount CD / DVD-ROM image". It opens the manager of Virtual drives. Click on Add, "navigate to the directory" / usr / share / virtualbox "and choose the file" VBoxGuestAdditons.iso. " Confirm with "open" and "select".
Now click on the virtual PC and open the window Explorer with [Windows E]. Change in the virtual CD-ROM drive and double-click on "VBOXGuestAdditons.exe" The installation of the VB tools starts.

funktioniert so natürlich nicht 
die Leerzeichen sind falsch gesetzt.
es muss sein:
mv .kde .kde-old
cp-av /etc/skel/.kde

Sorry, hab das nicht alles geprüft, was Google mir da übersetzt hat
