Hallo,

habe auch eine alte geforce2 mx400 und irgendwie bekomme ich die nicht installiert.
Bei der Installation bekomme ich immer eine Fehlermeldung dann wird das Bild schwarz und der Monitor zeigt nach einer Weile ein über der Rand hinaus verzerrtes Nvida-logo.

Wo finde ich denn das Install-log file oder weiß jemand noch Rat.


Eins ist noch sehr seltsam:
wenn ich mit der option 3 boote und in knxcc nvidia auswähle startet Kanotix mit Nvidia logo und der Treiber ich installiert

Nimm mal knxcc und lass alle modelines löschen.

Hallo Beschleuniger,

es ist etwas Kristallkugel, da bei mir die gleiche Karte problemlos läuft und du sehr knausrig bist mit System-Infos, aber versuch mal:

- Bildschirmeinstellung am Monitor (hast du einen Auto-Knopf?)
- Kanos Rat plus deine Auflösung über knxcc einstellen
- deine Auflösung mit # fix-res 1234x123 (natürlich mit deinen Zahlen)

habe nun ne msi nvidia fx5200 eingebaut.
und mein linux nochmal neu installiert (easter-edition).
dann habe ich geupdatet und anschließende den grafikteiber installiert.

Aber irgendwie geht immer noch nichts.

für mich sieht das aus also ob mit der installation alles geklappt hat.

Wenn ich aber Linux mit nvidia treiber starte bekomme ich einen schwarzen Bildschirm. und mein monitor geht aus (erst wird er schwarz, dann geht er aus) Frage

Hi,
Experten mögen mich dringendst korrigieren, aber dir fehlt in der Section Monitor eine Modeline. Ist das ein Röhrenmonitor oder ein TFT (Flachbildschirm?). Röhren solltest du mit 75 Hz mindestens laufen lassen, TFTs gehen oft schon mit 60 Hz ordentlich.

Naja, das wird vermutlich jetzt Bastelei (sehr nach Kanotix-Original seht das nicht aus, denn da gibt es Unmengen an Modelines für alle möglichen Bildschirme).

Für 1280x1024 bei 75 Hz holst du dir die Modeline mit:
# gtf 1280 1024 75

Die Daten die du da kriegst, kommen in die Section "Monitor" und die Syntax soll so aussehen:

Bitte Vorsicht, die Daten hier sind nur ein Muster für VESA aus der xorg.conf von Kanotix. Daten bitte unbedingt abgleichen.

Zwischen den beiden angefragten Sections müsste auch noch eine Section "Device" sein. Steht da irgendwo Driver "nvidia"?

Wenn ja, dann starte nach Eingabe der Modeline X wieder neu, dann sollte es gehen.

Editoren für den Terminal sind übrigens mcedit oder vim (wenn du vim nicht kennst, nimm den ersten).

Vermutlich ginge es mit Kanotix noch einfacher (mit knxcc) und den Einstellungsmöglichkeiten über Anzeige, das kannst du mal ausprobieren, wenn du es installiert hast (läuft am Terminal). Aber ich habe halt noch das Rumschreiben in der xorg.conf gelernt gehabt.

Wenn dies auch alles noch geht, dann wird es etwas schwierig, da mir der Installationsstatus der Maschine nicht ganz klar ist (die fehlenden Einträge in der xorg.conf sind ein wenig verwirrend, da unüblich und mir nicht klar ist, warum überhaupt keine Modeline drinnen steht.

Hi nochmal,

habe den Desktop noch schnell angeworfen, da habe ich die gleiche Grafikkarte drinnen wie du.

Ich habe meine xorg.conf (für Xorg 7) mal gezipt und schicke es mit hoch, damit du sie dir anschauen kannst. Steht viel drinnen, da ich alles von Kanotix drinnen gelassen habe, auch wenn ich es nicht brauche. Stört ja nicht.

Ich habe einen Philips 170S4 TFT-Bildschirm und der läuft auf 1280x1024 @75hz.

EDIT:
Zu dieser Auflösung noch eine Anmerkung: ich muss nach jedem Kernel-Update diese Auflösung wieder neu einstellen (zwei Möglichkeiten):

1. knxcc -> Anzeige
2. fix-res 1280x1024
X-Server Neustart

Warum: keine Ahnung, stört aber auch nicht sooonderlich. Nur um einem Schrecken vorzubeugen.

Habe übrigens am HP die gleiche wie du, nicht hier, du hast ja umgesteckt.

jeder kernel update bringt meist auch eine neue Einstellung für den Monitor mit. und überschreibt deine Anpassungen. allerdings mit Sicherung.

Du könntest auch /etc/X11/xorg.conf.1st löschen, dann musste es nicht dauernd neu einstellen nach nem kernel update.

Hallo Beschleuniger,

gtf ... hmmmmm ... wo ist gtf? Ich finde das hier auch nicht und auch nicht in den Paketen von Debian Sid. Komisch. Vielleicht weiß wer, was aus diesem praktischen Programm wurde, ich bin etwas erstaunt. War bis jetzt bei jedem Linux dabei.

Zur xorg.conf:
Da stehe ich jetzt auch an, sieht nämlich aufs erste Hinschauen gut aus, da müsste mit nv eigentlich X hochfahren können, mit nividia auch.

Eine Idee höchstens. Mach in der Section Device vor der Zeile mit 'Option "RenderAccel" ...' eine Raute oder schreibe eine 0 (Null) hin.

Dann bin ich aber auch am Ende meiner Weisheiten und hoffe, jemand sieht noch was, wo es sich spießen könnte.

Vielleicht hilft aber die Raute, bei mir am HP hat "RenderAccel" die Schriftendarstellung durcheinander gebracht, und in meiner aktuellen xorg.conf mit Xorg 7 ist die Zeile gar nicht mehr drinnen (siehe meinen Anhang oben).

Am besten immer eine Raute davor machen, dann ist das wie gelöscht, hast sie aber immer noch da, falls du sie oder Elemente draus brauchst.

Das ist die Section Screen in der xorg.conf.

Mach mal per Hand folgendes. Du hast Zeilen, die mit dem Wort "Modes" beginnen, die schauen bei dir so aus:

Ändere alle diese Zeilen dahingehend:

Starte X neu, und dann müsste eigentlich die Auflösung 1280x1024 sein, wenn du in den X gehst und KDE neu startest (ctrl-alt-backspace).

Keine Ahnung, warum ein:

oder die Einstellungen via Kanotix-Kontrollzentrum das nicht machen.

Nachtrag:
für den KDE ist es im Kontrollzentrum -> angeschlossene Geräte -> Anzeige

Aber wenn die gewünschte Anzeige nicht in den Modes steht und X das nicht "frisst", wird dort wahrscheinlich auch nicht das Gewünschte rauskommen. So meine Erfahrung.

wenn ich kde mit "nv"-treiber starte läuft die anzeige mit 100hz und 1024x768

läuft dann der nvidia-treiber mit den gleichgeneinstellungen?


Was ich nicht verstehe warum hat xorg6.8 noch funktioniert und das neue nicht mehr?

Puh, das sind ganz schwierige Fragen, wenn man nicht davor sitzt. Ich habe zwei Nvidia-Maschinen auf Xorg7 hochgezogen, mit genau deinen Treibern, und ganz sicher war das dabei (ohne dem wäre gar nichts gegangen):

[hier kam der dist-upgrade mit Xorg7, danach folgendes]

Das war eigentlich alles, was ich tun musste, gut noch:

für den Nvidia-Treiber, aber dann konnte ich alles einstellen, wie ich wollte und es läuft auf beiden Maschinen bis heute klaglos. Und was ich weiß, habe ich schon gepostet, jetzt bin ich wohl am Ende meiner Fahnenstange.

Hoffe du gibst nicht auf, für Kanotix würde ich mittlerweile meine Seele dem Teufel verkaufen, so gut isses.

Wenn ich das mit meiner /var/log/xorg.log vergleiche, bleibt wohl ein Punkt über: glx.
Beschleuniger hat folgendes geschrieben::

Vermutlich die Lösung:

# apt-get install libgl1-mesa-glx


Falls das jedoch schon installiert ist, sind wir wieder am Anfang.

habe das Problem gelöst in dem ich mir nen neuen Monitor zugelegt habe.

Nun funktioniert alles super!
